Grandma Joys Birthday

We went to Grandma Joy's and Grandpa John's to visit before we went to dinner for Grandma's birthday. We tussled, played resturant and Evan somehow got captured in a blanket.

I did a trial run on Evan's birthday cake. I did not have all the colors I needed so I made a crazy Spongebob Squarepants. I know what I need to do to make it better for next time. We brought it over to eat for Grandma's birthday. It was still yummy, just needed some more frosting. I made funfetti grandmas favorite. We ate it before dinner. Everyone thought that was really fun to have dessert before dinner.

Off to Outback Steakhouse. Evan loved looking at the map they have on the wall with all the different kinds of animals and sea creatures.

We all got steaks except for Evan. He got a cheeseburger. Jeff, Jeremy and John all got 16 oz prime ribs. I think John was the only one who could not finish it all. Joy, Caitlyn and I just got sirloins. It was all really yummy. I love Outback. We don't get there very often but when we do it is sure a treat.

Mother's Day 2012

We had a BBQ at our house for Mother's day this year. It seems like each year I end up washing kids outdoor toys and getting them ready for the summer on mothers day. So like years in the past we cleaned Evan's slide his pool and the big pool too. Daddy found a tree frog by the pool and Caitlyn kept him to show everyone.

Caitlyn and Catherine swam in the pool for a few hours. The water was pretty cold but kids don't know what cold is.

Me and my mom
Jeremy, John, Joy and Jeff

Jeremy BBQ'd for us. Yummy hamburgers, hot dogs and brats. We also had potato chips, fruit and yummy potato salad (thanks mom). For dessert we had cherry no bake Jello cheesecake and gluten free brownies.

Joy got the game Loaded Questions. In the game one person reads a question then every one else answers on a sheet of paper then the reader of the card has to guess who said what. We played and it was really fun. Here was the best question of the night:

If your butt could talk, what would it say?

here are the answers given:
"Fart!"
Help
I pass too much gas
Fix me I'm cracked
Get up I can't breathe

I had to guess what everyone said and I got them all right. Jeremy had to read all the answers and we were all laughing so hard it took a while to understand the answers given.

Scrapbooking Day

Jackie was so kind to have us over for scrapbooking. Thanks Jackie. I tried to get caught up on my project life but I am still behind. My kids came with and Evan played Legos most of the time eventhough it was a beautifully sunny day.

Can't wait till the next scrapbook day.

Sick Day

Caitlyn was just feeling bad today. She had a cough that kept her up during the night so I kept her home from school. But if you look really close in her left hand is a maple bar (she was not too sick for that yummy breakfast).
Grandma Karen got a call from our cousin and Gentry had a very mild fever and had to be picked up from school. So she came and played with us. We had pizza for lunch and the kids played school.

And baby

And made a huge mess in Evans room.

Evan wanted to play baby too and I think he was the baby.

More school but this time Gentry was the teacher and she was really tough. You breathe wrong and you have to write a million sentences on what you did wrong.

Eventhough it was a sick day we sure had fun.

Bellevue Square/park

05/02/12
I had to today off and Jeremy, Evan and I decided to go to Bellevue Square Mall so we could see the LEGO store. There was an accident on I-405 so it took us an extra 20 or so minutes. Evan was happy the whole way. He was really excited to see the Lego store. He had a snack of goldfish and water for the car ride.

When we got to the mall we had to find the Lego store so Evan was facinated at how high we were and Jeremy checked the directory to find the store. I will say the mall is a little too big for me. I was really lost.

Evan looked at every Lego or Lego set at his eye level. He put together some little men and played on the computers they had. I think he could have spent all day there. But we wante to have lunch.

Before lunch we stopped at the kids play area. Evan ran around like all the other kids. He said how he liked this play area better than the ones at the other mall. He has been to Alderwood but this was way better.

Evan stopped to smell the flowers before we went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch. Evan had kids sliders, fries and an apple juice. Jeremy had a macaroni and cheese burger. It had a beef patty, a macaroni patty and it was smothered in cheese. I just had an old fashioned burger and fries. Of course we had a cheesecake to share. We decided on Cookie dough. It was really good. We did get a piece of Oreo cheesecake to take home for Caitlyn since she did not get to come with us.

On our way home I decided to stop by Toys R Us really quick because I wanted to get Evan a Lego Table for his birthday coming up. Evan and Jeremy were sleeping at first but they woke up while I was in the store. I did find a Lego table on clearance so I bought it. I also got him a 6 drawer chest made specially for Lego's. Don't tell him he did not see it. It will be a surprise.

Then we went to the park to play while waiting for Caitlyn's bus. I was a really nice day out today.

Evan climed to the top of the "web" as Evan calls it. He was so proud of himself. He is getting so big.

Me on top of the web too. Beautiful day!!!

Clean sweeping

I worked on a room or more each day. I was so tired have having chaos all over the place. I had a goal of one room/section of the house a day. I was motivated by a girl at work who had cleaned out her bathroom under her sinks so I thought I would start there and then I just kept going.

Now this may still cause alarm to some that are OCD but I am not and I did not take before pictures this time but believe me all these rooms/areas look so much better.

04/24/12 I did start with the bathrooms under the sinks. We have 3 bathrooms so it was alot of work. I had at least 1 1/2 bags of garbage from under the sinks. Didn't you know that much garbage could be in such small places.

04/25/12 next I worked on this little section of toys. I did throw away a large size safeway bag of garbage away and did donate a garbage size bag of toys the kids have outgrown. SHHH... They do not know what I threw away.

04/26/12 Caitlyn's desk area. I recycled a Costco diaper box of papers. I don't know what is with this girl and paper but it is all over and she feels the need to save it. I also got ride of another bag of garbage.

04/27/12 One of the bigger tasks Evan's room. He felt the need to keep everything on the floor. I mean everything. So while he was playing downstairs I cleaned it all up. I got ride of another bag of garbage and broken toys. We donated a huge bin of toys/clothes to the church too.

04/28/12 Caitlyn's room next. I was really worried about her but it just needed some organizing. She got rid of a bunch of clothes and yes another box of paper.

Same day still.. The computer desk. I dusted it. It was really bad. We had not cleaned it in so long. Our computer stopped working so we just stay away from here but it really needed a good dusting. You can actually see that things are black not grey.

More of the same day. I cleaned my room. I could not do much with my scrapbooking area since I don't want to throw any of that away. I did find a bag of garbage to throw away. I am really bad about my room since it really is a catch all and we can close the door and no one will know better.

04/29/12 The paper heaven. I guess I know where Caitlyn gets her paper fetish from. This is usually covered in papers, bills, reciepts and coupons. I got rid of some much stuff. We can actually use this part of the counter as space for cooking. Imagine that the kitchen counters are used not for storage.

Here are just a few bags of garbage. We had probably 6 or 7 bags of garbage that was purged from out home. It feels so nice. I even got a compliment from Jeremy about the house looking nice.

I am sure I will have to revisit the purging again but hopefully I can keep it up.
