Victoria, BC day 2

Well day 2 is alot better. I did wake up early and ready to go. I knew we did not have much time so I wanted to get out and see a little more of the city. I woke Jeremy up and we headed off to breakfast. We ate at the hotel. It was good. We had potatoes, eggs, pancakes and toast.

We then cleaned up our room and used the shuttle to go to see the Craigdarroch Castle. It was about a 5 minute drive. We arrived about 20 minutes before they opened so we walked around the grounds. It was a beautifully sunny day. It was a little cold but the sun kept us warm.

We had to wash our shoes before we could go in just to keep the floors clean.

There were so many rooms in the castle first we went up one side of the castle and then back down the other side. There were lots of plaques to read and get information on what each room was used for. The castle had been a home for The Dunsmuir's, military hospital and a Victoria college. Each room had many uses over the years.

When we were done looking through the castle we went into the gift shop and it was snowing outside. They were just small flakes and it was not sticking but still pretty to look at. You can't see the snow very well but it is in this picture

Then we had our shuttle drop us off at the Bay Center Mall. We did a little shopping but mainly walked around all 5 stories of the mall.

Then we left the mall and went to lunch. We decided since we had never eaten at Fatburger. That sounded like a good place to go. It was a very small diner. The burgers and fries were really good. Jeremy's meal was called the Big Fat Meal.

After lunch we had a little bit of time left over so we decided to go to Minature World. It was really neat to see all the handcrafted little soldiers, fairy tale creatures, boats, planes, mountains and the Big Top Circus.

Now we actually get to ride the Clipper back home. It was a fun weekend but it is always nice to go home.

Goodbye Victoria, See you next time!!

Victoria, BC day 1

Jeremy and I went to Victoria for our anniversary. SO our adventure actually started Friday night when I get off work and read my email. It says:
Dear Victoria Clipper Passenger,
A strong storm front is expected to arrive in this area sometime tomorrow. We are currently monitoring the weather to determine if it will require the cancellation of the Victoria Clipper service.  At this time it appears that we may need to cancel the 8:00 AM Seattle to Victoria service for Saturday morning, but storms do not always come through as strong as forecasted.  We will be monitoring the weather throughout the night and will make a determination early Saturday morning.  We will send out an email advisory by 6:30 AM Saturday morning advising of the status of the 8:00 AM service and our phone lines will be open at 6:00 AM.
In the event that we do cancel, passengers who are scheduled on this departure will be transferred via motor coach from Seattle to Victoria.  Please check in at the Victoria Clipper terminal as early as 6:30 AM so that we can expedite your check in process and boarding of the motor coaches.

What in the Heck! Okay anyways lets go with it. We get a call at 9pm and they did cancel the Clipper for sure.  We got up at 4:30am to leave by 6:15am

By Clipper see you on the way home.

Here is our bus

They did serve us breakfast

Imagine That... Jeremy's sleeping!!!

Ferry Terminal

Before we got on the Ferry we had some lunch and of course Starbucks. It is still only 10:30am

The water looks nice but is it really

Playing Canasta to pass the time.

Okay maybe not so nice water... I did not lose it but I was really close.

more Canasta

Finally in Victoria!!! It is only 1:15pm. Long day already

Ready to take a nap. But no such thing. We still have a couple hours before the Museum closes.

The Legislative Building is just a block away from our hotel. It was huge.

Royal BC Museum

We were offered a free behind the scenes tour. We got to see where they catalog the bugs and animals. The tour took about 30 minutes.

After the Museum we went to Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner.

Jeremy had Baby Back Ribs and Spaghetti

I had Lasagna

After our long day we went back to our room and put on our swimsuits and we into the hot tub. We relaxed in the hot tub for 20 minutes and then I was ready for bed. The day was really long but we had fun. Can't wait for day 2.
